  • Foreign Worker

The number of invitations issued by Ontario PNP was as follows:

Canada Express Entry begins 2022 by inviting 392 immigration candidates

The year 2022 has started for Canada immigration with a Canada Express Entry draw that was held on January 5. In the draw, 392 immigration candidates were issued invitations to apply for a Canada PR visa.

The candidates chosen in the draw had to score at least 808 points. This score will have the 600 extra CRS points included that were earned by then by virtue of the provincial nomination they had obtained earlier.

The priority now for Canada immigration authorities is to clear the immigration application backlogs. There have been some important changes too that relate to Canada Express Entry. One change is extending the Canada PR status for international students and international temporary workers through Express Entry. Immigration candidates will have their work profiles categorized for Canada immigration under the TEER system which has now replaced the old NOC system.

This year, Canada will be going after a target of 411,000 newcomers by 2023. There’s surely much more interesting news coming up as Canada tries to achieve this huge target.

Invitations issued to 1,032 Canada Express Entry candidates to apply for PR

On December 10, 2021, Canada conducted a Canada Express Entry draw for Express Entry candidates already nominated for immigration provincially. In it, 1,032 candidates were issued invitations to apply for a Canada PR visa.

The candidates who were invited already had earned 600 extra CRS points on their basic score. Hence, the cut-off score in the December 10 draw came to 698 points.

A tie-break rule was implemented in the December 10 draw. The timestamp set was September 10, 2021, at 16:43:17 UTC.

Only 38 PNP-only draws have been held in the history of Canada Express Entry. In them, more than 1,000 invitations were issued only twice. Such an instance before the December 10 draw was the June 23 draw with 1002 invitations.

That makes the latest PNP-only Express Entry draw the largest ever in Express Entry history.

Canada has not stopped giving priority to CEC and PNP candidates in its Express Entry draws. However, with the improving situation around the COVID-19 pandemic, more overseas candidates will be finding their way to Canada to complete Canada immigration.
