Third Express Entry Draw of the week invited 5900 candidates to apply for the PR visas

Highlights: IRCC issued the Third Express Entry Draw of the week 

• IRCC issued an Express Entry Draw for the third time this week. 
• IRCC issued 5900 ITAS in the category-based selection draw with the STEM profession. 
• Candidates with a minimum score of 481 will be considered for the draw. 
• The previous Express Entry draw was held on 7th December 2023 for French proficiency.\

What is Express Entry Draw? 

Express Entry draw is an application through which process permanent residency applications from the candidates in: 

 

• The Federal Skilled Worker Program
• The Canadian Experience Class 
• The Federal Skilled Trades Program.

 

Through Express Entry, candidates receive extra points for their CRS score. The system is based on factors such as:  

 

• Work experience
• Language ability
• Occupation
• Education
• Age

 

Details of Third Express Entry draw

This is the third Express Entry Draw, held on 8 December 2023. Yesterday, on 7 December 2023, 1000 candidates with a CRS score 470 were issued an invite for French language proficiency. The day before that, on 6 December 2023, 4750 candidates with a CRS score of 561 were invited to the all-program draw.

These Express Entry Draws are based on category-based selections. These draw targets candidates from a particular category, such as French-Language Proficiency or work experience on: 

 

• Healthcare;
• STEM professions;
• Trades;
• Transport;
• Agriculture and Agri-food 

 

These are all occupations that are facing an occupation shortage of skilled workers. That is why Express Entry Draw is targeting candidates from these categories.  

 

Immigration Level Plan for 2023-2025

The current immigration plan for 2023-2025 shows that 114,000 federal highly skilled immigrants will be admitted to Canada at the end of 2025.
