Pathway to Australia

Why migrate to Australia?

Australia is a popular destination for various reasons. The country ranks among the top countries in the UN Human Development Index. The Land Down Under ranks high globally on access to education, high life expectancy, and socioeconomic factors.

People who want to migrate to a particular country gather information from relevant sources to determine if it is worth it. They will consider factors such as standard of life and working conditions before making a decision. Major reasons to migrate to Australia:

  1. Flourishing economy: Australia’s economy has been flourishing and growing consistently. There is a continuous requirement for people who have specializations to develop the economy.
  2. Numerous visa options: Australia offers numerous visa options for workers. The government grants visas to applicants depending on their skills. There are temporary or permanent employments for which employers sponsor visas.

It takes about 18 months to approve a visa which is quicker compared to other countries.

Skill Select program:

To provide opportunities to job aspirants with niche skills, the Australian government created the General Skilled Migration (SkillSelect) program in 2013. The important subclasses under this program are:

  • Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189)
  • Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190)
  • Skilled Nominated or Sponsored visa (Provisional) (Subclass 489)

This program’s applicants are points-based and can qualify for a visa only if they obtain the required points. The government regularly updates the list of occupations. You can access its site to know which are the in-demand skills.

Check out the SkillSelect program and register for it if you want to be considered for a visa. Applicants’ details will be recorded in the SkillSelect database. Federal, regional governments, and private employers access this database to search for suitable candidates to fill vacancies they have under the sponsored visa category. All those who qualify will need to apply for a skilled worker visa.

Recognition of qualifications: Australian companies appreciate the work experience of foreigners because they believe they add a new perspective to the work premises. Employers here recognize professional qualifications of several types. If you have any qualifications they need, your chances of qualifying for the SkillSelect program are greater.

Pension benefits: Immigrants who work and reside in Australia are eligible for few pension benefits. To get these benefits, you need to meet the criteria. Individuals who work in Australia benefit from the retirement savings account, also known as the Superannuation Fund.

Standard of living: Australia is known to offer a high quality of life. Australians can access a quality healthcare system and a proper social security net. Meanwhile, the population density is lean even in its large cities. Australia has a multicultural society that includes people from various parts of the world who have come and settled here. The moderate climate, pollution-free air, and the natural habitat in this country make it an ideal retirement place.

Secure environment: The country has the lowest crime rate among developed economies and an efficient police system.

Study opportunities: You can enhance your educational credentials with more than 20,00 courses of study at more than 1,200 educational institutions in the country.
