Australia Study Visa

Getting a student visa for Australia is easier than many other countries. You just need to learn the requirements and meet them to study in Australia. Once you enroll in a full-time study course, you can apply for a Subclass 500 visa which is the Australian Student Visa.

If you hold a student visa in Australia, you can:

  • Enroll and participate in a course considered eligible
  • Bring along family members to Australia
  • Apply for the visa online from within or outside Australia
  • Travel to and from Australia
  • Work for up to 40 hours every 2 weeks from the beginning of your course

The visa has a 5-year validity. Nevertheless, you can apply for an extension.

“But will it take long to get a visa?!”

Before you file an application for Australian student visa, ensure that you meet all eligibility requirements. Once you file an application, the processing of the visa will take generally 4 weeks. You can apply for the visa 124 days before your course starts. You can travel to any country 90 days before starting your course.

“What if I have dependents wanting to join me in Australia?”

They can also be added to your application for the Subclass 500 visa. Just mention them in your visa application and they could join you in time in Australia with a Dependent visa.

Remember that without mentioning your dependents, they may not be eligible for a Dependent visa later.

“Who is concerned with getting me an Australian Study visa?”

You can forward an application for an Australian Study visa in the following ways:

  • Directly via the university’s website
  • Apply via a local university
  • Apply via an external agent

We at Y-Axis can do this for you. So, you just go ahead and be prepared to make the leap.

“What about English language exams?”

Is English not your native language? Then you will need to take an English proficiency test. Take the IELTS test and include your test results in your visa application.

You’d be delighted to know that we cover that too with our IELTS online coaching program!

Once you choose your course in a university you will receive an offer letter from the college. You will have to give a written confirmation to accept the offer and pay the tuition fees. Following this, you will receive a CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment). This document is required for visa processing.

You must submit an application for a visa along with the following documents:
  • Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) certificate
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement
