Tips to Tour the Netherlands
  • English is the second language of the people of the Netherlands. So you don’t have to get tensed about communicating with the locals there during your trip.
  • It’s always wise to book accommodation, etc. in advance before you reach the Netherlands. For example, the peak season in Amsterdam is between June and August. Hotels and other facilities will be booked and the later it gets the harder it becomes to make bookings.
  • If coffee and snacks are on your mind, visit cafes rather than coffee shops in the Netherlands. The difference between the two lies in the availability of cannabis which is legal and available in the coffee shops in different areas of the country.
  • Don’t just go to the Netherlands to visit Amsterdam. Also, get enough information on lesser-known places and visit them to explore the authentic culture and features of the Netherlands.
  • The Dutch are pretty direct in their approach and their attitude mustn’t be confused with rudeness.
  • Try out the OV-ChipKaart, if you are going to travel extensively using public transport in the Netherlands.
