If you want to visit Italy, you need to apply for a tourist visa. It is a short-term Italian Schengen visa with a validity of 90 days. With this visa, you will be allowed to visit all the other 26 European countries that are part of the Schengen region. Italy is one of the countries under the Schengen agreement.

Tourist visa's eligibility criteria:

• A passport with a validity that exceeds the scheduled visit to Italy by three months
• Old passports, if required
• One passport-sized photograph
• A copy of a filled-out visa application form with your signature 
• Proof of arranged accommodation, air tickets, and your detailed itinerary in Italy
• Schengen travel visa insurance or health insurance for €30,000 to cover medical exigencies 
• Evidence of having sufficient financial resources to sustain your stay in Italy
• Recent six months bank statement 
• Evidence of income tax returns (ITR)
• A cover letter detailing the reasons behind your visit to Italy.
• Evidence of your civil status.

To be eligible for a tourist visa, you must meet the visa requirements and have the necessary travel documents in person.
