Highlights: Sweden granted 23,000+ Work Permits From January to October 2024

• Sweden issued 23,000+ Work Permits to Foreign nationals between January and October 2024.
• In the eight months of 2024, 80,336 Swedish permits were granted for all categories of applicants.
• A total of 20,595 permits were issued for family reunification in the first ten months of this year. 
• As of 2024, Sweden issued a total number of 15,965 study permits.

Total Number of Sweden permits issued in 2024

The Swedish Migration Services issued 23,870 work permits to foreign nationals between January and October 2024, the highest recorded number of permits to be issued for this visa type in 2024. According to the recent data, Sweden work permits represented around one-third (30 percent) of all permits. In the first eight months of 2024, 80,336 permits were issued for all categories of applicants. Sweden's family reunification permits were the second-most popular type of permit issued this year.

Swedish Government issued over 8,000 permits in October

The Migration Services granted 8,095 permits in October. The Family Reunification permits were the highest this month, with 31.2%. 

The total number of Swedish permits granted in October are as follows:

The Swedish government has also planned to increase the age limit for Family Reunification Permits from 18 to 21.
