Germany will be launching a new immigration system, which is expected to help immigrants move and work in the country without facing any challenges.

Apart from working on making the procedure for citizenship easier, Germany is planning to introduce a new points-based system, allowing immigrants to enter the country without the requirement of a confirmed job offer.

Chancenkarte is a points-based system of the German government project, which is known as an opportunity card to reform the immigration of workers once again.

Even though there is a job seeker visa in Germany, the Chancenkarte is intended to make the process of finding a job faster and easier in the country.

Eligibility requirements for the Germany’s new green card

Foreign nationals must meet three of the four eligibility requirements mentioned below, in order to be eligible for the new green card. They must have:

  • A minimum 3 years of professional experience
  • Professional qualification from a recognized university degree
  • Proficiency in the German language or have lived in the country in the past
  • Must be under the age of 35

The government of Germany will issue a limited number of Green cards on a yearly basis, depending on the demand of the labor market.

Hubertus Heil, the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of Germany stated, “introducing the latest green cards to the foreign nationals, is considered as a simpler and qualified immigration process. Those who possess this opportunity card (Chancenkarte), will be able to earn a living in the country.”
