1. For Skilled Professionals

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.

The candidate is eligible if they fulfill the following requirements:

• Employed in the UAE
• Have a role classified in the occupational classification scheme by MOHRE. More information is given below:
  • Level 1 Classification – Managers and Business Executives
  • Level 2 Classification – Professionals in the fields of Engineering, Sciences, Business and Management, Health, Education, Information Technology, Sociology, Law, and Culture
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent
• At least 30, 000 AED or equivalent
• Valid Practicing License for Physician, Pharmacist, Teacher, and the like

To apply, the candidates need to provide the following:

• Employment contract authorized in the UAE
• Proof of the applicant holding a classified position in level 1 or 2 in the occupational classification scheme of MOHRE
• Attested undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Valid Practicing License for professions that require:
  • Employment certificate
  • Salary certificate authorized by the employer with a bank statement of the last 6 months as evidence of a minimum income of 30,000 AED

2. For Scientists and Researchers

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.

The eligibility criteria are given below:

• Have a post-graduate or Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, and Technology, as classified by the UAE Ministry of Education
  • A Ph.D. from any of the top 500 universities in the world
  • A post-graduate from any of the global top 250 universities in the world
  • A post-graduate or Ph.D. from any of the top 100 universities specializing in the field of the study
• An FWCI or Field Weighted Citation Index grade of 1.0
• H-index grade of 10 or more, Scopus H-index grade of more than 20, or achievements in research and development sectors

The requirements for Master's and Ph.D. graduates should include the following:

• A post-graduate or Ph.D. degree in technology, engineering, natural and life sciences
• Equivalency certificate issued by the Ministry of Education
• Proof of FWCI grade of 1.0 or more
• Proof of H-index grade of 10 or more
• CV

The requirements for Scopus H-index candidates should include the following:

• Proof of H-index being more than 20
• CV

The requirements of candidates with achievements in the R&D Sector:

• Post-Graduate or Ph.D. degree in technology, engineering, natural and life sciences
• Achievements in R&D sectors in science and technology in or outside the UAE
• Proof of Scopus H-index grade is optional
• CV

3. For Senior Scholars and Clerics

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.

To apply, the candidates must provide a recommendation letter issued by the Ministry of Culture & Youth or an authorized local authority.

4. For Specialists in Industry and the 4th Industrial Revolution

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.

To apply, the candidates are required to provide a recommendation letter issued by the Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology or an authorized local authority.

5. For Specialists in Health Fields

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.

To apply, the candidate is required to provide the following:

• Recommendation letter issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health or Ministry of Health
• Valid license to practice in the UAE

6. For Specialists in Education

The validity of the residence permit is of 10 years.
