Australia Skill Select update for June 2019
The latest Skill Select round of Australia happened on the 11th of June. This would be the last Skill Select round for this program year (2018-19). Australia’s new program year for immigration commences on the 1st of July 2019.
Like May, the Skill Select round in June also saw a low number of invites being issued. The Subclass 189 Visa received 100 invitations while 10 invitations were issued under the Subclass 489 Visa.
However, unlike May, the cut-off score for June increased to 85 points while the cut-off was 80 in May. For the Subclass 489 Visa, the June cut-off score was 90 points in comparison to 85 points in May.
Like in other Skill Select rounds, some occupations were subject to pro-rata arrangement to cater to the high demand. Skill Select issues invitations to the Subclass 189 first and then the remaining to the Subclass 489. If all the visa places are taken up by the Subclass 189 then no invitations are issued to the Subclass 489.
