Which are the top Universities in Australia in 2020?

As per the QS World University Rankings 2020, Australian National University (ANU) still remains the top University in Australia despite falling five sports globally. 

Five of the 35 Australian Universities which were ranked this year have fallen in rank including ANU. Despite that, Australian Universities, in general, have made an excellent improvement. 

Here is a look at the top 10 Universities of Australia in 2020: 

1. Australian National University (ANU):
ANU has, yet again, topped the list of Universities in Australia in 2020. ANU had scored well on all of QS World University Rankings indicators except for one. Being the only University in the top 10 to fall in rank, the gap between ANU and the other Universities has tightened. 

2. University of Melbourne:
Nearly 40% of all the students coming to the University of Melbourne are from outside Australia. The University also has the distinction of being the highest-ranked University in Australia for academic and employer reputation. 

3. University of Sydney :
Founded in 1850, the University of Sydney is the oldest among the top three Universities in Australia. The University also scored higher for its international student proportion than the top two Universities. 

4. University of New South Wales (UNSW)
The UNSW did not score well on the faculty to student ratio. However, it easily made up for it with strong scores on the other five indicators in the QS World University Rankings 2020. 

5. University of Queensland
The University of Queensland was the first among the top Universities of Australia to rank inside the top 50 institutions of the world. Based in Brisbane, the University has been responsible for several research innovations, including the cervical cancer vaccine. 

6. Monash University
Monash University went up one place this year in the QS World University Rankings 2020. Based in Melbourne, Monash University has five campuses in Victoria and two overseas. The overseas campuses are in South Africa and Malaysia. It ranks among the top 50 Universities in the world for academic and employer reputation.

7. University of Western Australia
The University of Western Australia scored higher than all other Australian Universities in the proportion of international students and the number of citations per faculty member. 

8. University of Adelaide
The University of Adelaide has been recognized by the Excellence in Research Australia for innovations in various areas of research. The University has jumped up eight places in the 2020 QS World University Rankings. 

9. The University of Technology Sydney (UTS)
The University of Technology Sydney is the youngest among the top Universities of Australia. The University was founded in 1988 and has climbed up 20 spots this year. 

10. University of Newcastle, Australia
Founded in 1965, the main campus of the University of Newcastle in the Callaghan suburb of Newcastle, NSW. It has six campuses with over 26,600 students. Five campuses are in Australia and one abroad. The overseas campus is in Singapore.
