Recent Ontario PNP draw invites 162 French speakers

Ontario Provincial Nomination Program, is well-known for collection of various immigration pathways enables foreign nationals to become Canadian permanent residents.

On October 7, 2021 Ontario held PNP draw and invited 162 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

The invited 162 candidates are eligible for migrating to Canada under Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) stream. These candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 461 and 467 need to register a profile in the Express Entry system.

About French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream

It is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) program, and is associated with the Express Entry system.

Applicants who received invitations will have 45 days period to apply for their provincial nomination through online. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will send all the information required to apply for the provincial nomination for the invited candidates.

Till now four FSSW draws were held in 2021 and issued a total of 651 candidates till date.

Eligibility criteria for FSSW

Below is the list of eligibility criteria for the FSSW stream:

  • Register a profile in the Express Entry System under French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream.
  • Match with the eligibility criteria related to the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • Candidates should have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) with seven in French and six in English.
  • Arrange sufficient funds to cover the expenses in Ontario.

Benefits Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Canadian provinces are allowed to invite immigration candidates who match their labor market needs under Provincial Nominee Programs. Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are guaranteed with Invitation to Apply (ITA) along with Canadian permanent residence at the federal level in the subsequent draws.

Candidates with a provincial nomination will receive a reward of 600 CRS points which will be added to their original score. This makes their score higher, and hence it guarantees candidates to receive an ITA in the Express Entry draw, or a PNP-only draw.

As the candidates have profiles in the Express Entry system, receiving the provincial nomination from the province, Ontario will grant them with an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System to their overall score in this draw.
