Ontario PNP issues 537 invitations, offers provincial nomination

Canada is keeping its provincial doors open for qualified and skilled individuals from across the world to immigrate to the country. If you have what it takes to make a career in Canada, you should heed to what is happening in Canada’s provincial immigration sector.

On October 20, 2021, Ontario PNP issued invitations to 537 immigration candidates through 3 individual PNP draws. The invitations went to candidates via 3 streams of OINP. These were for Master’s Graduates, Ph.D. Graduates, and employer job offer - foreign worker stream.

Eligibility requirements

Master’s Graduate Stream

For eligibility, immigration candidates must:

  • be graduated from a Master’s degree program of at least 1-year full-time duration, from one of Ontario’s eligible institutions
  • have resided in Ontario legally for a minimum of 1 year in the last 2 years
  • have obtained at least level 7 in CLB/NCLC language test in English/French
  • have sufficient funds for settlement in Ontario
  • have legal status in Ontario or abroad
    • Applications from no other place in Canada will be accepted
  • have the intention to live and work in Ontario
  • apply within 2 years of completing the requirements to complete the master’s degree

Ph.D. Graduate Stream

For eligibility, immigration candidates must:

  • have graduated from a Ph.D. degree program in one of Ontario’s eligible institutions and have completed a minimum of 2 years of full-time
  • have sufficient funds for settling in Ontario
  • have legally resided in Ontario for a minimum of 1 year in the last 2 years
  • apply within 2 years of completing the requirements to complete the Ph.D. Degree
  • have the intention to live and work in Ontario

Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

For eligibility, immigration candidates must:

  • have a permanent and full-time job offer under NOC 0, A, or B that meets Ontario’s median wage levels and is a position essential to the business
  • have relevant work experience of 2 cumulative years in the 5 years prior to the application date
  • get the proposed wage which is equal to or more than the current wage being paid if the candidate is already working in the position
  • have a mandatory licensing in Ontario that’s relevant if the position demands that
  • have the intention to settle in Ontario
  • be living abroad, or be studying, working, or visiting Canada on a valid permit
