Ontario invites 1,406 Canada Express Entry candidates, offers nomination

Ontario’s recent PNP draw

The most recent Ontario PNP draw was conducted on October 27, 2021. OINP issued invitations to 1,406 Canada Express Entry candidates to file an application for a provincial nomination.

The biggest Ontario PNP draw in 2021 had candidates with a professional tech background being invited.

These Canada Express Entry candidates had eligibility for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream. The following criteria were to be met for eligibility:

• They were required to have a CRS score that fell between 455 and 467
• They needed to have an Express Entry profile
• If the candidate had foreign education, it was necessary for them to submit an ECA.
• They required minimum work experience of 1 year in one of the following occupations:
  • NOC 2172 - Database analysts & data administrators
  • NOC 2173 - Software engineers & designers
  • NOC 2147 - Computer engineers
  • NOC 2175 - Web designers & developers
  • NOC 0213 - Computer & information systems managers
  • NOC 2174 - Computer programmer & interactive media developers

The selected candidates have 45 calendar days to submit their applications for a provincial nomination, counted from the date of receiving an invitation.

Upon obtaining provincial nomination, they will be granted 600 extra CRS points. The base CRS score now increased will give them a greater chance to get an ITA for a Canada PR visa. This can be used in an upcoming Canada Express Entry draw.
