Nova Scotia immigration issues 30 invitations to invite entrepreneurs

Nova Scotia offered an opportunity to foreign investors to run businesses in the Canadian province.

In a new business immigration draw conducted by Nova Scotia immigration, 30 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued via 2 streams of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program. The draw was held on September 13, 2021, and it went as follows:

About Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Stream

This stream aims to involve candidates who own a business or have experience on a senior management level. These candidates are required to settle in Nova Scotia and buy an existing business or start a new one in the province.

The candidates must also actively take part in the daily management of such business.

Qualifying for Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Stream

The steps to be followed by the candidate to migrate to Canada under this stream are:

  • Lodge an EOI
  • Receive an ITA
  • Attend an in-person interview and draft a Business Performance Agreement
  • Get the work permit and establish the business in Nova Scotia
  • File a request for nomination
  • Apply for Canada PR

The criteria for candidates under Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Stream

  • Your age must be 21 years or more.
  • A minimum investment of $150,000 must be made to set up or buy a business in Nova Scotia.
  • You must be willing to live in Nova Scotia permanently owning and managing a business actively in the province.
  • You must have an experience of at least 3 in actively managing and owning a business (minimum 33% ownership) or over 5 years of experience working in a senior business management role.
  • You must have a net worth of at least $600,000.
  • You must have a CLB 5 score in listening, speaking, writing, and reading in English/French.

About International Graduate Entrepreneurship Stream

The steps to be followed by the candidate to migrate to Canada under this stream are:

  • Lodge an EOI
  • Receive an ITA
  • Attend an in-person interview and receive a nomination
  • Apply for Canada PR

The criteria for candidates under International Graduate Entrepreneurship Stream

  • You must be willing to live permanently in Nova Scotia while owning and actively engaged in managing a business in the province.
  • You must have completed a degree/diploma including at least 2 academic years of full-time, in-person study university in Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Community College.
  • You must have at least a CLB 7 score in listening, speaking, writing, and reading in English/French.
  • You must have continuous experience of actively managing and owning your current business in Nova Scotia for at least a year (100% ownership).
  • You must have a valid post-graduation work permit.
