Norway is planning to update the Integration Act significantly to unite refugees into the workforce. As the new proposal suggests, the proposed updates will focus on increasing job orientation, expanding eligibility for the initial program, and extending the duration of formal training.
To enhance their job market readiness, participants will be required to complete at least 15 hours of work-related activities per week after three months for those in shorter programs. This expanded program will also include applicant’s aged 55-60 refugees to unite and gain employment qualifications.
The government also plans to expand the program for formal education students by year. This extension is focused on supporting refugees who want to complete upper secondary education and vocational training, thereby improving their long-term employment prospects.

According to the government, this revision came in response to successful integration experiences with refugees from Ukraine, underscoring the importance of a simple and practical integration process. The government also introduced several measures to reduce arrivals and maintain control, but the number of arrivals in Norway remains high.
In the past three years, Norway has decided to settle 75,000 refugees, with more than 27 percent of working-age Ukrainians already employed.
Norway must have a flexible and straightforward regulatory framework to support the worker's goals.
