Latest changes in the South Australia state sponsorship

Effective from 26th July 2019, applications under the High Points category of South Australia will now require 85 points.
Applicants can apply under occupations in the Supplementary List and under “Special Conditions Apply” if they have “high points”. Earlier, candidates with 80 points or above could apply under the High Points category. However, it will no longer be so after 26th July 2019.
The High Points Category has been instrumental in attracting high-skilled immigrants to South Australia. This year too, South Australia has received a huge volume of applications under this category. As per Immigration SA, they will continue to monitor the applications received in the upcoming weeks.
Immigration SA has also announced that once the quota for the High Points category has been reached, the cut-off will automatically increase to 90 points.
Some occupations have already been closed for the High Points Category for the 2019-2020 program.
There has been a high volume of applications received by SA in July for both the Subclass 190 and Subclass 489. Immigration SA has announced that it is working hard to reduce the processing times for these applications. It has urged applicants not to submit an enquiry if their application is within the published processing time.
Applicants should allow 7 business days to Immigration SA to respond to an enquiry.
