The Partner Visa of Australia allows the spouse/partner of an Australian PR or citizen to live in Australia. Partner Visa applicants must be married to or in a common-law relationship with an Australian PR or citizen. Samesex partners are also eligible to file for a Partner Visa. Many couples file for the Partner Visa in an eagerness to live together instead of in a long-distance relationship.

Applying for a Partner Visa is complex and time-consuming. Under the Partner Visa, the applicant must be sponsored for 2 years by the Australian partner. In the case, your relationship is genuine and continuing, you may then apply for a Permanent Partner Visa.
