USCIS is accepting H-2B applications that are exempt from the cap mandated by the US government. It includes applications for:
The starting date of employment is before April 1, 2023. USCIS will not be accepting new H-2B applications received after September 12, 2022, requesting an employment start date before April 1, 2023.
The US businesses use the program of H-2B to employ international workers for temporary jobs which are non-agricultural in nature.
At present, the government of the US has fixed the cap for H-2B at 66,000 for every fiscal year. Approximately 33,000 workers begin their employment in the first half of FY 2022. The other 33,000 and any vacant slots from the first half of FY 2022 are for international workers who start their employment in the second half of FY 2022.
