Demark new rule for Income requirement

As per the Danish authority, the income requirement for work permits will change from October 1, 2024. According to the new update, most foreigners will receive over ten percent higher salaries to be eligible for a Danish work permit. The salary-increasing assessment will be based on whether the salary offered to foreigners is equivalent to Danish standards.

This change ensures that every employee is treated fairly and receives salaries equivalent to those already on the Danish labor market.

Until September 30, 2024, whoever has applied for a Danish work and residence permit will be assessed based on the income statistics for the second quarter 2024. The applicants who submitted their assessments between July 1 and September 30, 2024, will have their applications assessed based on the statistics for the third quarter of this year.

The new requirement will apply to applicants who will apply for a Danish residence permit and work permit to work in the country and for an extension from October 1. Applicants who have already completed the application procedure don’t have to worry about the new requirement, as their application will be assessed based on the previous statistics.
