The point’s requirement for a state nomination has been increased to 85 from the existing 80 points by South Australia. This has been announced after the existing 80 points requirement had filled the quota of nominations. The new point’s requirement will be effective from 19 April 2017 9 am onwards. Nevertheless, applicants who have already submitted their applications will not be affected by the change of point’s requirement, quotes SBS. This announcement by Immigration South Australia will influence who are seeking more points or chain immigration nomination. It has been also announced by Immigration South Australia that applications for nomination for high points that are submitted after April 19 onwards will be rejected in case they fall short of the requirement of 85 points. On the other hand, certain occupations have been exempted from the high points and chain immigration streams. On April 5, 2017, it was also declared by Immigration South Australia that the following occupations will not be included in the chain immigration or high point category with immediate effect: Human resources Adviser, Accountant (General), Sales Representative, Marketing Specialist, University Tutor, Hospital Pharmacist, University Lecturer, and Retail Pharmacist. This will however not be applicable to applications that were submitted earlier to 1 pm on April 5, 2017. Applications that have been submitted after this time will be rejected in case if applied for chain immigration or high point’s nomination.
