Important Announcement for International Students in Canada & Australia

Canada and Australia have both put a cap on international students. From January 1, 2025, the Australian government announced a National Planning Level (NPL) to limit the growth of the International student program starting in Australia, setting 270,000 International students for 2025. Meanwhile, Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2025 set a target for international students arriving in the country at 305,900.

 

Post-graduation Work Authorization

Canada and Australia provide foreign students with opportunities to obtain PR by working in the country after graduation. But there are some differences between the two countries, such as:

  • Australia requires an applicant to be 35 or younger for a post-graduation work visa, whereas Canada has no age restrictions.
  • Canada restricts the eligibility to programs aligned with in-demand occupations, whereas Australia has no such restriction.
