South Australia has updated the requirements for state nomination for Australia PR Visa for overseas students. They must be currently working in a skilled occupation in South Australia for last 3 months.

The above is applicable even to VET – Vocational Education and Training and graduates in Higher Education. This is regardless of the occupation list under which they are applying.

Overseas graduates of South Australia who are employed in their field for last 180 days in a South Australia region are also eligible. The earlier requirement was 12 months, as quoted by the SBS.

South Australia overseas graduates accessing waiver for work experience will only be qualified to apply for Provisional 489 Visa. This is when they are accessing it through Proficient Plus overall or Proficient English.
