Thailand Tourist Visa

Thailand is a favorite destination for many tourists. More than 35 million people come to visit the country every year. There are many popular aspects of Thailand like white sandy beaches, historic temples, delicious food, fabulous hotels, and many more. The country is located in South East Asia, and its Capital city is Bangkok. The capital city has palaces, temples, beach resorts, and many more places to visit.

You need to have a Thailand tourist visa to visit the country. There are two kinds of visas which people can use to visit Thailand, and they are tourist visa and visa on arrival. With a tourist visa, tourists will have the option of residing in the country for 60 days, while Visa on arrival will provide the stay duration of 15 days.

Documents Required for the Visa Application:

  • A valid passport with six months validity
  • Three passport size photos
  • A copy of your completed and signed visa application form
  • Details about your itinerary
  • Proof of hotel bookings, flight bookings
  • International Health certificate on Yellow Fever Vaccination
  • A cover letter from the ‘primary applicant’ or the individual incurring travel expenses which describes the reason for the travel
  • If you are a businessman, a cover letter from your company stating your position and length of service
  • Bank statement of last three months

Dos and Don’ts for a Thailand Tourist Visa:

Do’s:

A tourist visa must be applied 4 weeks before the scheduled travel date.

You must fill out the visa application form carefully and correctly. An incomplete form will be refused.

Bring photocopies and originals of all the supporting documentation to the Thai Embassy when submitting the visa application form.

Be prepared to supply additional documents if requested by the embassy authorities.

Don’ts:

Any false or fake documents that you provide will lead to serious trouble. Never distort or conceal facts.

Can I work in Thailand on my tourist visa?

Foreigners that enter Thailand are not permitted to work, unless they are granted a work permit. Those intending to work in Thailand must have the appropriate visa for being eligible to apply for a work permit.

After submitting your application, you must stay in Thailand for 15 days to await approval. The Immigration Office will then stamp a 90-day “Non-Immigrant” Visa on your passport. You must also extend it before it expires.
