Germany Tourist Visa

If you plan to visit Germany as a tourist or for a business purpose, here are the visa requirements to enter the country.

It would help if you had a short-term visa to visit Germany, the validity of which is 90 days. Known also as the Schengen visa, it is valid in 25 other European countries that are located in the Schengen region.  

German Tourist Visa application’s eligibility criteria:

• A passport
• Passport must have been issued within the past ten years
• One passport-sized photograph 
• One copy of your completed application form with a signature
• Evidence of arranged hotel and flight bookings and a detailed itinerary of the stay in Germany
• One photocopy of flight tickets 
• Evidence of having adequate financial resources to sustain your German travel and stay 
• Recent statement from your bank
• Evidence of having sufficient medical insurance with a coverage of at least €30,000
• No-objection certificate (NOC) from your employer 
• A cover letter explaining why you intend to visit Germany
• Evidence of marital status along with a marriage certificate, children’s birth certificate 
• Evidence of having paid the tourist visa fees
