There are 2 types of visas that international students who are non-EU/EEA nationals can apply for to study in Italy. They are:
Type C visas are meant for students who want to stay and study in Italy for a short while (up to 90 days). It’s suitable for you if you are going to Italy to do a language course or any other short course with no more than 90 days of duration.
Type D visas which are apt for you if you are going to study in Italy joining degree-level courses/programs. With this type of visa, you can also get the benefit of being able to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week while attending classes simultaneously.
Note that if you are doing a short course (under 90 days) and are a national of the following countries, you aren’t required to apply for an Italy student visa.
