- Get nominated: A government agency of any Australian state or Territory must nominate you before inviting you to apply for the visa.
- Business ownership: You must have an ownership stake in one or two businesses with a turnover of AUD750,000 in each of the past two fiscal years before receiving an invitation to apply.
- Personal and business assets: When you get an ITA, you, your partner, or you and your partner must have minimum combined personal and business assets of AUD1.25 million.

Processing fee of Business Innovation Stream
The processing fee of the subclass 188A visa for the principal applicant is AUD6,270.
However, there is an additional cost for each family member applying with you. An additional applicant over eighteen years of age will have to pay a processing fee of AUD3,135, while an additional applicant under the age of eighteen must pay a processing fee of AUD1,565.
The second instalment charges for the principal applicant are AUD9,795 and AUD4,890 for each additional family member accompanying.
