This has been revealed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in its national list for areas of internal immigration for the fiscal year 2015-16. The western region in Melbourne occupies the third position in the list with the figure of 5491. This is the number of Australian residents who relocated within Victoria and the nation. Geelong city was a number four with figure 4216 while the outer and inner east lost 2060 and 3305 residents each. The report of the Australian Bureau of Statistics also revealed that lifestyle and affordability were the key factors responsible for the immigration to the West. It has elaborated that those areas that have high affordability in the outskirts are witnessing increases internal immigration in Australia while compared to the cities located in the inner Australia. Reports have also revealed that Pacific Werribee was renovated with a budget of 400 million dollars and several numbers of educational institutions have been developed now along Truganina and Tarneit. Regional Rail Link and the Metro train line have given a boost to the transport in this region. The prices for real estate are very high for the same distance from the city in the opposite direction of the west of Melbourne. Melbourne, in fact, witnessed net internal immigration of 8270 which was the highest for the city in the last decade.
