Details of H-2B visa cap for FY 2024

H-2B visa or permit helps to hire temporary non-immigrant workers to perform services in the United States.

 

From April 1 to May 14, 2024, USCIS received sufficient petitions for 19,000 H-2B visas, which were made available for employers in the early second half of the fiscal year who wanted to return to their country.

 

The last date for candidates requesting petitions for supplemental H-2B visas was April 17, 2024.

 

USCIS will continue to fill out petitions for an additional 20,000 visas for H-2B non-immigrant workers in country-specific allocations.

Filling date of Second F.Y. 2024

New petitions for workers for the late second half of FY 2024 will begin on April 22, 2024. Workers requesting employment start dates from May 15 to September 30, 2024, will be applicable for the round of petitions. 5000 visas under this allocation are restricted to workers with H-2B visas issued or held status from 2021 to 2023. 

 

Eligible criteria for H2-B visa

• Must have an employment offer from a U.S. employer.
• Must intend to return home after the permit expires
• Have the skills that the U.S. employer needs
• Apply if you are from an eligible country
