Study Group’s Emma Lancaster offers valuable support to UK

Kevin Foster, UK’s Minister for Future Borders and UK Immigration met with Emma Lancaster, the CEO of Study Group. It's a global company that prepares international students to attend university degree programs. They discussed the support for international students arriving to study in the UK.

The meeting was part of Emma’s visit to Cardiff University. Before the meeting, Ms. Lancaster had already announced the early opening of a new student route and child route.

The new Tier 4 visa route has been introduced by the UK government. It was as part of its plan to attract the brightest international students to the country. These students will contribute immensely to Britain once it becomes free from the EU this year-end.

Ms. Lancaster gave ideas on the ways in which the government can achieve its educational export target of £35 billion by 2030. Her suggestions included streamlining the student visa process. She also suggested delegating related functions to trusted providers. These providers are capable of facilitating a simplified process for international students. This would increase the appeal of the UK as an educational destination.

The Study Group was also forthcoming in supporting the government with its international education strategy. Mr. Foster reiterated his commitment to rendering the UK immigration system a much more user-friendly one. He also affirmed his pledge to work closely with communities and businesses to make sure the system functions well for everyone involved.

Ms. Lancaster also expressed her gratitude to Mr. Foster for showing great commitment to welcoming the international education strategy. The reintroduction of the post-study work visa route in summer 2021 was particularly appreciated.
