The Australia Subclass 500 Student visa permits overseas students to pursue a full-time course in an accredited educational institution. Its validity is for maximum five years. Prior to applying for this visa, you must have:

• Been accepted at an educational institution in Australia for a full-time course

• Arranged for required welfare arrangements for your stay in Australia if you are below 18 years

Apart from some exemptions, your course of study must be registered on the CRICOS. This stands for Commonwealth Register of courses and Institutions for Overseas Students.
