Public consultations for modernizing Australia visa system have concluded on September 15, 2017. The consultations have comprised of a wide engagement program with visa and immigration stakeholders, public community and industry. The overseas partners of the DIBP were also involved in the interactions.

Written submissions were accepted from the diverse stakeholders and the DIBP has released a consultation paper on policy. This has been done to support the stakeholders and the public in offering a response to the modernization of Australia visa system. Online submissions have also been accepted through digital web forms, as quoted by the Border Gov Au.

The proposed reforms for simplifying Australia visa system are very significant. The Immigration Department has said that these will be implemented in adherence with international obligations of Australia.
