Are you prepared for Australia Visa compliance in 2018

Australia visa compliance for 2018 will be quite a task as several contentious changes have been made by the Government of Australia. The single most consequential decision was to abolish the Australia 457 skilled visa for overseas workers.

By 2018 March the new Australia Visa compliance rules will come into full effect. The TSS visa system will replace the 457 visa program for skilled immigrants. Crucial changes to PR visa sponsored by employers and training fund levy will also be implemented.

The TSS visa system will consist of two categories. The first is Short duration visa authorizing a stay of 2 years in Australia. The second is Medium duration visa authorizing a stay of 4 years in Australia, as quoted by Absolute Immigration.

After staying for 3 years under the Medium duration visa immigrants can apply for PR Visa and onshore renewal. Thus the eligibility for transitioning to PR visa will be increased to 3 years from 2 years.

Employers who intend to nominate immigrant worker for Regional sponsored or Employer nominated PR visa to have to make the upfront contribution. They will have to make payment of 3000 to 5000 dollars to the Fund for Skilling Australians.

Australia visa processing times will also be impacted and be increased. This could be a major challenge for firms who intend to hire staff by a particular deadline. There will be an influx of pending and new applications. With the launch of TSS visa, the waiting times are only anticipated to increase.

DIBP Australia has said that 75% of the applications will be processed in 5 months. The remaining 90% of the applications can be expected to be processed by 10 months.
