Australia Immigration agents question withdrawal decision for 457 visa applications

Most people need the help of Immigration agents as immigrating to Australia is a highly complicated process said Senior Migration Law academic at the Australian National University Marianne Dickie. The assistance of Immigration agents is not required just for filling forms and documentation, added Ms. Dickie. Majority of them need assistance for choosing the right Australia visa pathway, said the Migration Law Academic.

There are more than 5,000 Immigration agents in Australia, informed Marianne. The migration law is quite complex and keeps changing all the time. The immigration process is tough and time consuming added Ms. Dickie.

Migrating to Australia has two major pathways: Permanent immigration and Provisional visas. These are further subdivided into several categories for immigrants to arrive and reside in Australia. Temporary skilled immigrants are accepted under diverse visas for a range of industries. Provisional migration includes several categories of visas for overseas students, individuals on working holidays and skilled workers.

The working visas include Skilled Immigration, gas and offshore oil industry visas, and visas for Investors, Business owners, and Entrepreneurs. 457 visas are one of the most renowned working visas. This will be abolished from 2018 March. It will be replaced with the visas for Temporary Skills Shortage, as quoted by the SBS.

In 2016-17, the government of Australia offered 190, 000 PR visas. There are diverse categories of PR visa through which immigrants can apply for Permanent Residence in Australia. One of the pathways for PR is the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme. Alternatively, migrants who have resided in a particular regional area for 2 years and worked in that area for at least 1 year can also apply for PR.

The scheme for sponsorship is intended to permit qualified relatives to sponsor members of the family to unite with them in the regional area. In these applications, secondary applications including kids can be included.

The other pathways to PR include Business Skills Stream and Family stream, said Senior Migration Law academic at the Australian National University Marianne Dickie.
