Highlights: Ireland issued Work Permits for 3,400 workers in the Agriculture Sector in 2024

• Irish government issued more than 3,400 work permits to foreign workers in Agriculture sectors in 2024.
• A total of 1 per cent of total employment permits were granted to health and Social care workers in 2024.
• The highest number of Irish permit was issued in February in 2024.
• Indians and Brazilians led the nationality that granted the most of the employment permit.

Ireland issued more than 30,000 Permit for Employment in 2024

A total number of 36,402 Irish permits were granted in the eleven months of the year. 3,289 were approved in November, or nine per cent of the total work permit issued. Most permits were issued in Health and Social work, representing 11,694 or 32.1 per cent of all work permits.

 

Additionally, from January 2025, the Irish government announced salary increments for workers who are in meat processing and horticulture, which will increase from €30,000 to €32,000.

As per the DETE data, nationality from Asian, African, and South American regions is the most common one who applied for employment permits. Ireland granted most employment permits between January and November of 2024 to nationalities which are:
