France honored frontline workers who were and are actively serving to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The country has bestowed on them French nationality. These 74 professionals had arrived in France to work overseas. Another 693 workers are on their way to become French citizens, for which the processing is in progress.

These people who have been rewarded have worked as housekeepers, health professionals, cashiers, and childcare professionals among other jobs. In normal cases, one has to reside in France for at least 5 years and have a stable income to become eligible to be a French citizen. They also have to demonstrate that they have integrated well into the French society.

Their great service in a critical juncture is what makes the French government decide to honor these frontline workers. When counting the countries affected by COVID-19 pandemic, France comes among the worst hit.
