Over the past five years, Canada has become a home for immigrants with an increasing labor market, affordable education, and multiple gateways. But as the world is slowly recovering from the pandemic attack, more countries are introducing the reinvented policies to grab the attention of the immigrants.
In 2021, almost 100,000 Indians became permanent residents of Canada as the country recorded 405,000 new immigrants in its entire history.

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Program is one of the effective immigration routes for students. The new temporary policy allows extending the stay by providing a temporary status validity to the recently graduated international students. This helps the students get a better chance at qualifying for permanent residency and work experience.
As the world is slowly emerging from the paranoia of the pandemic, countries like the United States, which has been a most popular destination for the students and techies, is seeking immigrants to fill up their industries, start businesses and settle down eventually.
Canada is facing tough competition from countries like the UK and Australia post-pandemic. More lucrative work opportunities and a better route that guides acquiring citizenship are attracting more people to these countries.

The rebirth of Australia and the UK
The UK introduced the route of post-study graduate in 2021, enabling the eligible graduates to stay for three years in the UK after completing their studies.
The UK will launch a unique High Potential Individual (HPI) visa this month. This recent gateway will attract foreign university graduates who are highly skilled and who will be permitted to stay and work in the UK for two to three years, based on their level of degree.
