The new body reviewing visa decisions would have a new staff. The staff would be merit-based and qualified. Mr. Dreyfus stated that current members of the tribunal were required to reapply if they wish to work in their previous positions in the new body.
A task force headed by the former High Court judge would work on the structure and power of the legislation and new body. It would be implemented next year.
Australia also stated that, it requires more employees to process the backlog of visa applications. The changes will be implemented by the new visa reviewing body.
