Australian Capital Territory issues 54 invites in the latest draw

ACT conducted the latest invitation round on 19th December 2019 inviting 54 candidates to apply for Australian PR. Invited candidates can apply for under the Subclass 190 or the Subclass 491 Visa categories.

To qualify for a state nomination through ACT, candidates must first file the Canberra matrix. The range of the matrix score in the 19th December draw was between 90 and 135 points. A matrix expires in case an invitation is not issued within six months.

ACT will start accepting applications for the Subclass 491 Visa from 1st January 2020.

The eligibility criteria for 2020 will apply to all matrices submitted after 1st January 2020.

Applying for a state nomination through ACT involves a two-stage process:

  1. Eligible candidates must express an interest in a state nomination through ACT by completing a Canberra matrix. You can either select the 491 nomination pathway or the 190 nomination pathway. Highest-scoring candidates in each stream are invited to apply for a state nomination through ACT.
  2. Those invited to apply for state nomination through ACT, you must submit your application and service fee within 14 days. You will also need to provide the required supporting documents. You will also need to submit your Matrix score that was claimed at the date of Matrix submission. If you do not validate the Matrix score or if you do not meet the eligibility requirement, you do not qualify for ACT state nomination.

ACT nomination guidelines effective from 1st January 2020 are now available on the official ACT immigration website.
