Australia Working Holiday Visa approved for visiting Greeks finally

Australia Working Holiday Visa has been approved for visiting Greeks finally. It was awaited for a long time. This was announced officially by the Gazette of the Greek Government.

Aspiring applicants in the age range of 31 to 18 years were keenly looking forward to the Australia Working Holiday Visa. The required domestic processes have been completed by the governments of Australia and Greece.

As of now, 500 applicants from Greece will be able to obtain this visa annually. They will be permitted to reside, travel and work legally in Australia for one year. These details were revealed by the Official Gazette of the Greek Government vide ΦΕΚ B' 4488/2017.

The agreement is a result of the initiative of the Melbourne Greek Community. It carried on the dialogues to achieve this for almost 6 years, as quoted by the Neoskosmos. Mr. Terence Quick the Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister of Greece made a visit to Melbourne. After this, the issue was opened again with assurance for accelerating processes.

The Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister of Greece said that one more assurance for the Greeks residing in Australia has been fulfilled by the government. This issue was discussed by the Minister with Julie Bishop the Australia Foreign Affairs Minister in Canberra. It has been pending since 2014, added the Minister.

The approval of Australia Working Holiday Visa outlines the persistent endeavors of the Melbourne Greek Community said GCM President Mr. Bill Papastergiadis. It was an initiative of Costas Markos. The accentuated firmness of Mr. Bowen the then Minister has also been crucial. Greece and Australia share a rich past. This agreement will enhance and bind the bilateral ties of these two nations, added Bill.
