The Department of Immigration and Border Protection in Australia approved more than 65,000 visitor visas for Indians from January to April 2017, as quoted by the Economic Times.

Tourism Research Australia has also revealed that by March 2017 there was an increase of 30% in the numbers of Indians traveling to Australia’s south region. South Australian Tourism Commission’s Regional Director for India and Southeast Asia Dana Urmonas said that the department will be rolling out special initiatives for Indian travelers from 2018 that will be aimed at attracting independent holiday travelers and honeymooners in the age range of 25 years to 45 years.

The Commission had recently associated with Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms for facilitating the shooting of TV serial episodes across Barossa, Adelaide, and Kangaroo Island that had assisted in increasing enquiries and searches, elaborated the South Australian Tourism Commission.
