Australia adds new occupations to the Skilled Occupation List

Australia now has 36 more occupations in its present Skilled Occupation List as compared to the previous one. 32 new occupations have now been added to the Skilled Occupation List.

There is a high demand for professional occupations in Australia. The country is seeking more permanent immigrants in these sectors. It is also welcoming more international students to build upon these sectors in the future.

The inclusion of occupations like Botanist, University Lecturer, and Metallurgist implies that high-skilled people are in demand in Australia.

David Coleman, Immigration Minister, says that the Australian Govt. is focused on addressing the skill gaps in Australia, as per SBS News.

Here are the new occupations that have been added to the Combined Skilled Occupation List:

1. Horse Trainer

2. Software and Applications Programmer nec

3. Multimedia Specialist

4. University Lecturer

5. Natural and Physical Science Professionals nec

6. Meteorologist

7. Metallurgist

8. Conservator

9. Life Scientist nec

10. Zoologist

11. Microbiologist

12. Marine Biologist

13. Botanist

14. Biotechnologist

15. Biochemist

16. Life Scientist (General)

17. Hydrogeologist

18. Geophysicist

19. Environmental Scientist nec

20. Environmental Research Scientist

21. Environmental Consultant

22. Food Technologist

23. Chemist

24. Engineering Professionals nec

25. Petroleum Engineer

26. Mining Engineer (excluding Petroleum)

27. Economist

28. Statistician

29. Environmental Manager

30. Musician (Instrumental)

These two occupations have been added on the Regional Occupation List:

1. Goat Farmer

2. Deer Farmer
