New decisions in Canada immigration

  • Canada has decided to work on immigration programs that will let temporary foreign residents in Canada to get a Canada PR visa more easily.
  • During the period when COVID-19 restrictions were in place, Canada has been conducting immigration draws that participate CEC and PNP candidates only. These candidates were already working in the country and were available to immigrate, unlike overseas candidates who had to face delays of border restrictions.
  • IRCC has also taken the following steps:
    • It has virtually processed more application categories to reach pre-pandemic rates in visa application processing.
    • It has pivoted to remotely deliver many immigration services (E.g., online citizenship ceremonies).
    • The Canadian government’s aim and effort are to achieve a 4.4% influx of French-speaking immigrants outside Quebec by 2023.
  • More airports are opening in Canada and by the end of November 2021, 18 airports will have opened in Canada to accept international flights. This will definitely help encourage more new immigrants to arrive in Canada.

So, as it can be seen, commensurate with the increasing number of vaccinations in Canada, the borders will open up and more immigrants overseas will be welcomed to move to Canada. This is the flagship mission for Canada as its economic recovery and subsequent development depends heavily on Canada immigration performance.
